Dear Upside Down World Readers,
Upside Down World’s tenth year publishing has witnessed a series of dramatic political and social changes in Latin America, events which have shifted the balance of power between social movements and governments, and further tipped the region against US imperialism. We started reporting on popular rebellions and political change in Latin America in 2003, and today that focus continues as we follow the widespread grassroots resistance to extractive industries, from Guatemala to Peru, and the regional revolt against Washington’s spying. In order to keep going strong beyond our 10th year, we need your help. Please make a donation today!
The struggle for a better world requires a better media, and Upside Down World’s accompaniment of social movements, analysis from below, and reporting from the street barricades has always been oriented by the struggle for global justice. Lately, we have been able to provide you with report backs from the Zapatista school this summer, analysis of the re-militarizing of the police in Honduras, articles on social movement struggles in Guatemala, accounts of resistance to extractive capitalism in Peru, along with other articles, photo essays and an increasing number of translations. Upside Down World remains a 100% reader-funded, collectively-run media organization, and we could not have continued operating over these past ten years without the financial contributions, moral support and enthusiasm of our readers. Please consider making a donation today to help us continue publishing for another decade and more! You can make a one-time donation, or donate monthly as a sustainer.
